Four-year letterman in Basketball and
Baseball
Participated on four Men’s Basketball NCAA
College Division Playoff teams, two of
which advanced to the national tournament
and was a member of the NCAA National
runner up team in 1958.
A four-year starter in baseball as a
catcher. Set a school record for seasonal
batting average as a freshman, led nation
in total extra base hits in senior season
and was team captain two times, Jr. and
Sr. year.
Was named Chapman College Outstanding
Senior Athlete. 1960-61 (Along with Nash)
At Chapman was the Associated Men’s
Student President (1959-60) and Associated
Student Body President (1960-61) and a
member of the Lambda Service Club.
Served as Assistant Varsity and Head JV
Basketball Coach (1961-62) and Assistant
Varsity Baseball Coach (1962)

The last 45 years has been devoted to a
career in teaching, coaching,
administration and program development at
the youth, high school, Jr. College and 4
yr college levels.

sports sponsorship and built

new program at one of California’s
newest state universities. Grew
into a full NCAA Division II 13
sport program. Created new revenue
streams and raised funds for
scholarships. Built new soccer
facilities, aquatic center and
baseball and softball complex.

last three years. Retire Dec. 31,
2006

Currently Principal Consultant,
with Pyramid Power, devoted to
building positive foundations for
youth through sports. I am
involved with youth sports events,
tournaments, clinics and travel
opportunities for young people.
